Dr hab. Magdalena Tarnacka

Ph.D., D.Sc, Associate Professor

A graduate of the University of Silesia. The title of doctor of physical sciences at the Institute of Physics of the University of Silesia was awarded in 2016 for his doctoral thesis “Studying the kinetics of polymerization reactions under various thermodynamic conditions (T, p)”. A laureate of the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding scientific achievements and a START scholarship funded by the Foundation for Polish Science. Assistant professor at the Department of Biophysics and Molecular Physics at the Institute of Physics, University of Silesia. As part of her scientific work, she studies the influence of the two-dimensional spatial limit on the course of physico-chemical processes, including glass transition, polymerization reaction. In 2018 she completed a 4-month internship abroad for Prof. Carmen Mijangos from the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de Polímeros, CSIC, Madrid, Spain. Her research is interdisciplinary, combining knowledge in the fields of physics, chemistry, polymers and materials science, being an ideal tool for deepening the current state of knowledge, inter alia in the context of physico-chemical changes. However, in her free time, she likes knitting and reading fantastic books.
