Prof. dr hab. Kamil Kamiński

Ph.D., D.Sc., Full Professor

From the beginning of his academic career he has been associated with the University of Silesia. A graduate of the Institute of Chemistry, University of Silesia (Master of 2004), he decided to pursue a scientific career at the Institute of Physics of the University of Silesia where he did his doctorate in 2008 under the supervision of professor Zioło. Then he worked as a post doc (2008-2012) in the TEAM project funded by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and headed by Professor Marian Paluch. After finishing the project, he went to Leipzig in Germany for 4 months as a visiting professor to the group led by Professor Kremer, who is one of the leaders in the study of molecular dynamics of systems forming the glassy phase in spatial limitation. After arriving in Poland in 2015, he made a habilitation in physics for a series of publications closely related to the molecular dynamics of saccharides in various thermodynamic conditions. Since then, he has been directing the work of his own research group, which deals with the study of molecular dynamics of spatially limited systems, and also deals with polymerization problems under high pressure conditions as well as porous systems with strictly defined geometries, pore diameters. I am currently the head of two research projects funded by the National Science Center and a project funded by the Ministries of Science and Higher Education (entitled “High-pressure polymerization of ε-caprolactone and γ-butyrolactone, optimization of reaction conditions and modification of the synthesis procedure”, No. 3 / INKUBATOR / US / 2018 / IV).
